Pagani Zonda La Nonna (1998)

A year before Horacio introduced the Zonda C12 in its definitive form in the Geneva (Switzerland) motor show in 1999, several prototypes were built for the car's development.

Number 2 is the one that has served as a test bed for the successive evolutions of the Zonda through the years: the S, the S 7.3, the F, the Cinque or the 760.

During this nearly 20 years it has driven an outstanding 1 million kilometers (621.000 miles) in all kinds of places and extreme conditions around the world, many of them with Davide Testi at the wheel, Pagani's veteran test driver; hence its name "La Nonna" (Italian for grandmother).

Initially it was lovingly named "Il Nonno" (Italian for grandfather) in an extra official manner. But in 2015, some Pagani employees decided to restore it and bring it back to its best shape as a gift for Horacio Pagani's sixtieth birthday. Apart from giving it a unique identifying plaque with the name of La Nonna.

In the current day La Nonna rests in the museum Pagani has in its first factory in San Cesareo sul Panaro in the province of Modena. A well deserved price for the oldest Zonda in existence to its long and extenuating life.

Its current configuration includes the AMG V12 used for the 760 mated to a 7-speed sequential gearbox.
