Pagani Huayra Roadster ( 2017 - In production )

Six years after the launching of the Huayra coupe, the Roadster version was unveiled in February 2017 and was publicly introduced in the Geneva (Switzerland) motor show.

When time came to start developing the Huayra Roadster in 2010, the project was proposed like the rest of Pagani roadsters to date, starting off with the coupe, removing the roof and strengthening the rest of the chassis to lose the least possible rigidity, but in 2013 this idea was ditched and the project was restarted like a completely new model. In Horacio's own words:

“From the beginning we set for ourselves some rather ambitious targets.
The first, from a technical point of view, was to make a Roadster that would be lighter than the Coupé,
which was already the lightest hypercar on sale at the time...”

And the result is, for the first time ever, a roadster that's 80 kg (176 lb) lighter than the coupe version. In order to achieve this milestone, Pagani developed a new and improved version of their Carbotanium material of which the chassis is made of by combining it with Carbo-Triax HP52, a composite material that's considered more advanced than the materials used in Formula 1 to date.

Mechanically the Roadster includes some improvements compared to the coupe. The bi-turbocharged V12 gains 34 hp (33 bhp) and is mated to the same sequential gearbox than that of the BC.
The suspension is made of HiForg aluminium, and the result if 25% lighter than the Huayra coupe and it's been applied the principles obtained in the development of the BC.
The Pirelli P Zero Corsa have been specifically designed for the Huayra Roadster and wear the "HP" initials on the side walls as a tribute to Horacio Pagani, with whom Pirelli have a long history with. They're capable of generating up to 1.8 G of lateral force, an outstanding figure for a road car.

The exterior changes are more subtle, although numerous as well, and focus on the new front and rear grills, with a new framework, a newly redesigned front derived from the BC, new multi spoke wheels similar to those of the Pacchetto Tempesta, and in the engine cover, which now includes two humps that derive from the anti-roll bars and that form a V-shaped structure that houses a little glass window that allows for the AMG V12 engine underneath to be seen through.
The Roadster includes two different removable roofs, a fixed carbon fiber with a large glass surface one perfect for all year use and that doesn't detract the occupants from any of the functionalities the roof of any other regular coupe car would, and a fabric and carbon fiber other one that can be stored inside the own car perfect for any weather emergency.

Some elements of the interior have been redesigned too, like the new door panels, with new handles and speakers, and the "Roadster" engraving on the passenger side.

A total of 100 units of the Roadster (all sold before the official unveiling) will be built, the same number of coupes.
